PersonaGuard

A drop-in compliance SDK for AI companion and character-chat apps that turns California, New York, and Washington's new AI-companion-safety laws into a widget and API a two-person app studio can ship this week.

The problem

California, New York, and Washington now require AI companion chatbots to show AI-disclosure banners, break reminders, and self-harm crisis-referral responses, with California allowing private lawsuits at $1,000 per violation, but the hundreds of small companion-chat app operators subject to these laws have no software that implements the required behavior, only law-tracking newsletters or hand-rolled disclaimers.

The wedge

Ship a drop-in JS/React widget and REST API that renders the state-correct disclosure and break-reminder copy, classifies outbound messages for self-harm signals and injects the mandated crisis response, and logs an immutable audit trail, priced self-serve by MAU with no sales call, unlike ailawsbystate.com's law-tracker-only subscription or enterprise AI-governance platforms sold via demo.
